Family Challenges

Most school holidays families are set a 'Family Challenge'. The Family Challenges aim to encourage families to set aside some time in the holiday to do something together.

Challenges vary from just talking to each other about a topic, to creating a piece of artwork. As families complete the challenges set, they must collect evidence of some sort. Evidence may be a photo, a piece of writing or a piece of artwork. Evidence is brought into school by a set date. Families who have completed the Family Challenge are then invited to a 'Family Challenge Celebration',  where they are presented with a certificate and each infant/nursery child who has completed the challenge receives a prize.

Here is some feedback that parents gave us recently about the Family Challenge:

  • I took part and it was a great way to encourage parents to take part in children's activities.

  • Really enjoyed them with other children - looking forward to doing them again with youngest.

  • They are interesting to the children and encourage the whole family to take part together.
