This term the Yellow 1 children have been exploring the story 'Where The Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak.
The story is a about a young boy who goes on an adventure into the rainforest. We have turned our loft into our own rainforest, full of leaves, vines and explorers equipment to inspire our writing and ideas.
In Geography we have been looking at images and videos of the Amazon rainforest to find out what it is like and then we have compared it to Walsall.
In science we are beginning to explore the sounds of the rainforest and how sound can be changed.
We have also had the exciting opportunity to work with artists to create a Wild Things display. This involevd us getting messy with lots of art equipment. We have been painting, modelling, hand knitting and Yellow 1 particulary enjoyed using the glitter. Take a look at the gallery to see us doing our artist in residence work.
