SCHOOL CLOSURE HOME LEARNING
Welcome to our Home Learning Area
We hope you are finding the home learning books and homework packs that we provided useful at home. As well as these we will continue to update you with more home learning activities via our weekly school newsletter from Mrs Reilly (Head of School).
We have also set up resources on our school website to help continue your learning journey. This page will direct you to useful websites, links to daily activity updates, links to interactive story times, blogs to communicate with your teachers and much more.
We really hope that we can support your family through this difficult time and please get in touch via the school email if you need any more support. Our hope is to work in partnership with you to support all of our children as best as we can.
Reading for pleasure is proven to support children's cognitive development.

Wash Your Hands
Watch the video to see the importance of washing your hands.
Let's join thousands of people taking part in the annual nature challenge from The Wildlife Trusts.
The aim is to do one wild thing a day throughout the whole month for your health, wellbeing and for the planet. That's 30 simple, fun and exciting Random Acts of Wildness. Let's get outdoors and take time to breathe in the fresh air and appreciate the everyday wildlife on our doorstep.
Ask your grown up to take a photo of you completing the fun activities and email it to email@example.com
It would be lovely to create a display/collage of your photos to show what we have done over the month.
A* STARS at home
While you and your family are out on your daily exercise why not pick a challenge to complete?
The challenge asks children to record a week of their daily exercise along with fun activities to complete.
Look at the picture closely.
Can you spot the great road safety behaviour and the three potential hazards?
30 day Lego challenge!
Every week day, for the next 30 days, there will be a new Lego challenge. If you haven't got any Lego then you could always use junk modelling or building blocks.
Happy Building and don't forget to post your pictures of your models on your blogs! You could even look at your friends models on their blogs to compare!
Story Time Phonics for Nursery and Reception
All children in Reception have been learning a new sound every day using the Story Time Phonics approach (this follows the same order as Letters and Sounds).
It is important that Reception children continue (Nursery children can begin) to practise saying and writing the sounds and therefore we have provided some resources to help.
Visit the Video Resource Centre on our school website to join in with the Phonic Fairy's letter and sounds activities.

We do not suggest that children spend all day on screens however you may want to choose one or two a day to access.
To keep your child active Joe Wicks is holding live PE lessons at 9am Monday to Friday on his You Tube channel for children of all ages. The lesson will last for 30 minutes a day and will energise kids to get active, bounce around and have fun. Make sure you check it out (if you can access it via your phone or tablet project it into your TV screen to make it easier to follow).
