What have we been up to during our first half term in Year 1...
As we continue to settle into our classrooms and explore our environment. We have been working hard to complete classroom challenges take a look at our photos!
Recycling week - our creations with our recycled materials
Our COJO day - We had a great day today taking part in 6 missions across the day based on the Lion King. Missions included transporting water across the dessert and finding food for our tribe whilst working together in teams and building characteristics of learning.
Remembrance day
DT levers - creating our own levers to support our use of the word load, effort and fulcrum. We had a great time making the load (counter) move from the lever (lollystick). We tested what happens when we moved the fulcrum (rubber) to different parts of the lever.
DT - creating a biscuit for Santa and his helpers using a criteria it was healthy, tasty and had at least two toppings.
Science - This term we have looked at materials and their properties. We explored our environment and predicted which material we thought would be most commonly used around school. We then created a pictogram to input our data and find a conclusion.
Art - We have learnt about LS Lowry and created a class picture using the medium of charcoal
